Training Philosophy

As relationship based balanced dog trainers, we believe that clear communication between an owner and their dog is key to building a healthy relationship. This comes from teaching obedience, providing structure, and setting clear boundaries while also putting an emphasis on having fun with your dog. We focus heavily on owner education; making sure you feel confident in maintaining the skills we teach you so that you get the most out of your investment into your dogs training. We want to set not only your dog up for success, but you as well!

We want you as the owner to grasp the "why" behind the training methods we teach so that you will be more likely to stay committed to your dogs training and development. Our goal is to make training easy to digest and integrate into your daily lives.

We use a marker system to teach dogs the concepts of "yes", "no" and “good” which is the foundation of our training style. Since every dog is unique, we adjust our methods to fit the individual needs of each dog while considering the preferences of you as the owner. We strive to be compassionate and understanding toward both the owners and their dogs, while keeping our communication clear and straightforward.

How long until I see results from training?

Many owners see improvements after the first session—like calmer leash walks and better focus. Lasting results come from consistent practice at home, which we coach you through step‑by‑step.

Do you work with reactive or aggressive dogs?

Yes. We specialize in high‑drive and reactive dogs. We create a clear plan that prioritizes safety, structure, and gradual exposure so your dog can stay calm and make better choices.

What tools do you use (e‑collar, prong, etc.)?

We’re balanced trainers. Tools are introduced thoughtfully and only when appropriate for the dog and goals. We always teach foundation skills first and show you how to use tools fairly and clearly.

What’s the difference between private sessions and board & train?

Private sessions focus on teaching you handling skills while we work your dog together. Board & Train is immersive—your dog stays with us to jump‑start progress—then we transfer the training to you through structured follow‑ups.
